Westomatic helps you reduce your carbon footprint

A leading consumer goods manufacturer recently reported that over a quarter of businesses are measuring their carbon footprint and 2 in every 5 have already implemented a carbon emission reduction program. It is clear that UK businesses want to invest in a greener infrastructure which is why Westomatic is leading the market in terms of sustainable design and manufacturing.

What is a Carbon Footprint?

A Carbon Footprint is the total set of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, event, organisation and product expressed as CO2e. The total footprint of an organisation encompasses a wide range of emissions sources, from direct use of fuels to indirect impacts such as employee travel or emissions from other organisations within the supply chain.*

Businesses are increasingly measuring factors such as power consumption and mileage because these have a direct effect on costs. Therefore evidence of return on investment over the life of a vending machine such as direct energy savings are increasingly important when choosing a vending solution.

Following the introduction of the EVA EMP (European Vending Association Energy Management Protocol) earlier this year which provides manufacturers with a method for measuring energy consumption of vending equipment, findings show that Westomatic could save businesses up to 52% in energy compared to competitor machines.

Did you know?

Westomatic machines use LED lighting which last for 50,000 hours. These are much more environmentally friendly than old fluorescent tubes that need to be replaced regularly and disposed of correctly.

Probably the greenest vending machines on the planet

  • LED lighting instead of wasteful fluorescent tubes
  • Components made from recycled materials where possible
  • Custom designed energy management systems
  • Paperless brewing system
  • Permanent refillable ingredient canisters reduce waste compared to in-cup and pod vendors
  • USB audit technology saves paper and time

Own mug or cup facilities, shorter logistics paths and the use of long-life reusable delivery cases (pallet, shrink wrap and card-board free) make Westomatic a market-leader in terms of green credentials.

It takes approximately seven litres of water and 162g of oil to create a one litre plastic bottle.

Sustainable chilled water

Westomatic are making waves in the supply of sustainable chilled water with the Azure high capacity, point-of-use water dispenser. Plumbed into the mains, the Azure filters water through a UV and carbon filter for an unlimited supply of chilled, pure, bottled-at-source quality water, which ends the need for routine water canister deliveries and saves on carbon emissions. Flash-cooling technology means water is only chilled when a drink selection is actually requested and an optional 500ml bottle-fill facility reduces the need for plastic cups further reducing waste.
